Lisa Mussenden
Floating Assistant

Lisa is a floater and teacher assistant working in the extended day program. She is a mother of three mostly-grown children, two of whom made their way through SSDS when it was Luther Rice (one was a handful--just ask Miss Judy!). As with several other teachers here, Lisa was recruited by Richelle to teach preK, which she did for two years. It was a fun and creative experience, but she left to babysit a major home renovation. She did not stop teaching however and joined the National Zoo as a volunteer educating visitors in the Elephant House (yes, it was smelly but way cool!). From there she started as a substitute teacher in Montgomery County, where she still works with pre-K, special needs, ESOL and general Elementary education. In her spare time she enjoys making jewelry and hanging out with the one kid still living at home.
