Teacher/Child Ratio

SSDS recognizes the importance of having a small teacher to child ratio in order to provide an optimal learning environment. Ratios are based on class size and age of children. SSDS maintains classes that are below the ratios mandated by the MSDE.

SSDS Ratios

  • 2-year-olds: one teacher/adult to every three to four children
  • 3/4-year-olds: one teacher/adult to every five to six children
  • 4-year-olds and pre-K: one teacher/adult to every six to nine children

MSDE Ratios

  • 2-year-olds: one teacher/adult to every six children
  • 3/4-year-olds: one teacher/adult to every 12 children
  • 4-year-olds and pre-K: one teacher/adult to every 12 children
