Erin Schelar is a former SSDS parent who loves the community so much she is excited to remain engaged as a floating assistant and sub this year. Erin believes in the importance of play and socioemotional learning, and hopes to help to foster this in the SSDS classrooms and beyond. She has found that her training and work experience with children and adolescents in global health, anthropology, and nursing translates well to the flexibility and collaborative work of early childhood development.

When Erin isn't at SSDS, you can find her creating art and baking treats with her kids, daydreaming about traveling, gardening, and reading mystery novels. Erin lives in DC with her husband and two children.
