Amy was a photographer before she decided to follow her passion for teaching and love for children. She obtained degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary education and taught pre-k, kindergarten and third grade in Florida before moving back to Maryland. She loves that SSDS is a play based learning school and that she has the opportunity to help children learn and grow through exploration, music, movement and play.

She was blessed to work at SSDS with the awesome Ms. Leslie, while her youngest had his first school experience with the amazingly talented 3’s teacher, Ms. Beth. She is looking forward to getting back to playing and having fun with the kids in her Pre-K classroom.
