Leah Spencer has worked in education for the last 15+ years, including 9 years as a MCPS second grade teacher. She is taking a break from public education to spend time at home with her two daughters, one currently at SSDS and one an alum. She believes strongly in the importance of social-emotional learning and the power of play for kids of all ages, and in the long-term benefits that come from an early foundation with these skills. She loves to read, take walks in Sligo Creek, and explore new, fun places with her family.
